Dothan AL- July 8th, 2025
Dothan United continues to dominate on home turf with another flaming win on Tuesday, July 8th. DUSC is just getting warmed up as USL League Two Playoffs are just around the corner. Dothan’s win streak continues to remind opposing teams that they are there to fight and are not to be messed with. The communication between the players is the best we have seen so far, which has led to some outstanding goals for our hometown team.
It was a hot night for DUSC, with their offensive plays being on fire! In the 24th minute Clarence Loriot took his chance with a corner kick and put the ball right into the goal, just getting the Dragons warmed up for the night. And only three minutes after would we see Laurie Goddard shoot the ball back into the goal making the score 2-0.
East Atlanta started to shoot back with Kimoni Mills making an impact and changing the score from 2-0 to 2-1, however they still were not able to catch up to the Dragons the whole night.
The Dragons ruled Rip Hewes Stadium the second half. Goddard not only gave the Dragon’s winger a hat trick, but also proved to EAFC that the rest of the game was basically out of reach for them.
And in the 62nd minutes, after a foul against Ezra White, Goddard changed the score to 3-1 after taking the penalty kick, which was originally blocked by the goalie just to be shot back in the goal with a great rebound. And only minutes after would Goddard take possession of the ball again and send the ball flying into the goal (4-1).
The final goal took place in the 78th minute by Devonte Richards, who sliced the ball right past the goalie making the final score 5-1 for the Dragons.
DUSC’s defense this game was nothing short of incredible, only letting one ball slide the whole match. Their communication is always top notch just like their ball control every single game.
Dothan continues to exceed expectations each game, always providing amazing performances. Their last home game before playoffs is this Saturday, July 12th, and we promise it will be a match you do not want to miss! Come watch the Dragons finish their season off at Rip Hewes Stadium at 7:30pm, before they make it to playoffs. ¡Vamos Dragones!
