The Dothan United Dragons introduced head coach Carl Reynolds to the public and unveiled the team logo during a launch party at Circle City Brewing on Thursday night.
“They did a fantastic job of selling the project, but when I came to town to check it out and see it for real, they didn’t have to sell the people and the community,” Reynolds said of taking the job.
“Everybody seemed really behind it and together, and I’m a big family guy. If I go somewhere, it needs to be somewhere that feels right, and it felt right. I need to be somewhere where I’m happy and have a real affinity with the people, and I felt that here.”
Reynolds, a 35-year-old native of Oxford, England, will be the first coach of Dothan’s new minor league team, which will play in the well-established United Soccer League Two.
The Dragons will play their home games at Rip Hewes Stadium.
