Following a challenging road match against top-ranked Ashville FC, the team has focused on strengthening its bond with fans in Dothan and building anticipation for the weekend’s game.
The week kicked off on Tuesday with a lively luncheon at Mercedes Benz, sponsored by Troy Bank and Trust. Players, staff, and partners participated in a fun bonding activity during the luncheon to further strengthen the team bond and partners’ bond. Later that evening, the camaraderie continued as the coaches hosted a soccer trivia night at Circle City Brewing Company. Fans joined the team for an entertaining evening of challenging trivia, with players helping out fans in some challenging soccer questions. The fans and team came together to learn more about soccer, engage in some friendly competition, and get to know each other better!
Wednesday was all about fun and games at Adventureland Theme Park. The team met with fans to play mini-golf, ride go-karts and bumper boats, and compete in arcade games. Right winger Alexander Blanche took over the media duties, capturing memorable moments with fans and teammates, bringing the community closer to the team.
On Thursday, the players enjoyed a team dinner at Firestone Wood Fired Grill. This gathering allowed the team to relax and refocus in preparation for the big game. The dinner was a perfect blend of great food and team spirit, setting the tone for the days ahead.
Friday will see the team back on the practice field, fine-tuning their strategies and getting ready for the critical match. The dedication and hard work of the players are evident, and they are determined to bring their best performance to the field.
The excitement culminates on Saturday as Dothan United faces Birmingham Legion FC at 7 p.m. at Rip Hewes Stadium. The rivalry, affectionately dubbed the “Go to Church” rivalry, promises to be an intense and thrilling match. To kick off the festivities, a happy hour will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the stadium, giving fans a chance to mingle, enjoy refreshments, and get pumped up for the game.
