Small Businesses, Big Impact- Moments before the game Dothan United hosted their first ever Troy Business Expo for several small businesses local to the Wiregrass area. A couple of these business include: Plush Cotton Candy & Sweets and Gulf Stream Pressure Washing. The Dragons want to remind fans that everyone has an impact on the community, big or small. Therefore, every Dragon fan should try to make a positive impact, supporting local businesses, and leaving the Wiregrass better than we found it.
Game-time!– The Dragons are fired up with a 4-1 whiteout win against Birmingham. This is the sixth win in the row for DUSC, the Dragons are truly on fire. Dothan secured their first goal after a chip in attempt from Stefano Campisi that was then blocked from Birmingham’s goalie, only to be knocked back into the goal by Santiago Hoyos.
The score would remain 1-0 until after halftime when a long cross would lead to a blazing shot from Ivan Gonzalez who scored right past a defender. And not long after did we see a beautiful and strategic goal from Devonte Richards, who set the ball up perfectly several yards outside the box. The Dragons did not disappoint making the score 3-0 in the 76th minute.
The final shot- The 90th minute of the game, Ryan Holmes intercepted with a goalie clearance that sent the ball right over to Alec Palanjian, a star player, who ripped a shot right into the goal. Making it 4-0 for the Dragons.
One lucky shot was made by Caleb Alldredge, a Birmingham player, who shot the ball past goalie Yago Darub. Leaving the final score 4-1. The Dothan United Dragons did not come to play around- they came to dominate, and that’s exactly what they did in their 4-1 thrashing of Birmingham.

Community- Dothan fans showed up and showed out at the game on the 15th- everyone was rocking white and cheering on the Dragons to victory. Dragon fans were especially excited to see the Dragons new home kit. An all white kit with red stripes was showcased at the game. DUSC also gave fans an opportunity to win their very own in an extremely successful raffle. Four jerseys were given out for the four players that scored: Hoyos, Gonzalez, Richards, and Palanjian.
The Dothan United community cannot seem to get enough of the Bright-Speed Race that takes place at every home halftime game. And we cannot forget about our standout dance team that kept the crowd energized with a brand new routine. They also were in support of the whiteout theme as they showcased their very own white Dothan United jerseys.
What’s next?- In the South Central Division standings, the Dragons are now in second place with 15 points. Only a single win’s worth behind undefeated Asheville City. Birmingham is now fourth in the standings.
