Dear Dothan,
It is with a heart full of gratitude and pride that I announce my resignation as Head Coach of Dothan United. Over the past two years, we have not only achieved remarkable success but have also set a new standard for excellence within our organization and the city.
When I first took on this role, I expressed my belief that we could bring championships to Dothan, and together we have fulfilled that promise by securing the USL League Two Southern Conference Championship. This victory is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of every player, coach, and staff member. It is a milestone that will be remembered as a defining moment in the team’s history.
As my career continues to evolve, I believe now is the right time for my family and I to step aside and allow new leadership to take the helm. This decision was not made lightly; over the last two years, I have enjoyed some of the best moments of my career. Although this was an extremely difficult decision, I am confident that Dothan United will continue to thrive and achieve success for many years to come.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of the players, the coaching staff, and the entire organization for their unwavering support and commitment. It has been one of the greatest honors to serve as your Head Coach, and I will cherish the memories and experiences we have shared.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this remarkable journey. I wish Dothan United continued success and prosperity in all future endeavors. Let’s remember that the pursuit of championships is not a one-time achievement but a standard to uphold every year.
Vamos DHN!
Sincerely,
Carl Reynolds
Dothan United – USL League 2

The Dothan United organization has a mix of emotions regarding Coach Carl Reynolds resignation. We are so happy and proud of Carl in his new position and the role our organization has played in his growth as a coach. Carl created a winning culture in Dothan in just two seasons and helped bring our city its first USL Championship as Southern Conference Champions of 2025. His experience here on a national stage helped expose him to multiple NCAA Division I offers and landing a big job at Liberty University.
He is leaving Dothan with a tremendous foundation to continue to build on as he helped put Dothan Alabama on the map in the soccer world. We were in constant communication with Carl during this process and had already begun a national search for a new head coach. We hope to have some positive news on the search in the very near future. We wish Carl and his family the best of success in chasing National Championships for Liberty and thank him for his many contributions to our early success.
