In a partnership designed to give back to the community, Dothan United will welcome adorable, adoptable dogs to Rip Hewes Stadium, offering fans the chance to meet- and potentially adopt- a furry new friend. Wiregrass Pets Rescue and Adoption will have a variety of dogs on site, ready to find loving forever homes.
But the support does not stop there! The game will also serve as a fundraiser, accepting pet supply donations to support Wiregrass Pets’ ongoing work- especially their new shelter currently under construction. With the demand for animal rescue services growing, this organization is working to expand its capacity and improve conditions for animals awaiting adoption.
Pet supplies needed include: Purina dog chow, Purina puppy chow, Purina cat chow, Purina kitten chow, wet dog and puppy food, wet cat and kitten food, cat litter, slip leads and leashes, dog harnesses, and Martingale collars. Any of these donations will be taken up by volunteers at the front gate of Rip Hewes Stadium, and these fans will be given free admission to Saturday night’s game!
Only on the 31st will we see the Dothan United Dragons switch gears to become the Circle City Scratchers. All Dothan United players will have exclusive jerseys showcasing their support for the Wiregrass Pets Rescue and Adoption Center. And fans too can auction for one of their very own Circle City Scratcher jerseys!
Fans attending are encouraged to bring their generosity- and maybe leave with a new furry best friend. Whether you are there for the goals or the dogs, May 31st promises to be a game day to remember.
Gates open to Rip Hewes Stadium at 5:30 PM to view these cuddly critters, and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM. General admission to the game is $12 online, and $14 at the gate- however pet supply donators will be given free admission.
