Dothan, AL- June 18th, 2025
This fierce win on the 18th was just what the DUSC needed to go to the finals. After overcoming an hour rain delay, the Dragons knew that it was their night to seize this victory no matter the challenges. This team continues to impress the community with their performance and drive. Always seeking the best in every game, no matter the weather or the pitch.
That night the Dragons honored the life and legacy of Stephen Durham. The DUSC were incredibly blessed to have him as a part of the family. Dothan United is fortunate to see his vision for this organization come to fruition. And as the season moves on the Dragons continue to thank such an amazing leader who blessed this program every step of the way.
Ryan Holmes started off their 3 goal streak, and just within the 13th minute he slotted the ball right past the opposing teams’ goalie to give the dragons a one-up advantage.
Throughout the first half and beginning of the second half a couple of yellow cards were given out to both players and coaches. As well as some risky plays from both of the teams. And the score would stay 1-0 until after halftime.
Dothan United’s halftimes are the best in the league, bringing fans into the action with the thrilling Bright-Speed Race, high energy dace performances, and a crowd-hyping T-shirt cannon that keeps everyone on their feet.
The Dragons continued to push until the 67th minute mark where Ryan Holmes would make his second goal of the night. He strategically tapped it into the goal during a corner kick to give the Dragons a 2-0 lead.
The game continued to move at a fast pace until a multi-player attack in the 90th minute resulted in a chaotic yet clever goal. As the ball bounced back in forth from players, like a game of pinball, Jordan Salas managed to punch it into the goal with a powerful kick, ending the night in a 3-0 victory against Tennessee SC.
The Dragons now sit with a whopping 18 points in the Division, and are ranked 17th in the latest USL League 2 power rankings.
